National Project Manager

The opportunity:

As part of the Healthcare Logistics Australia leadership team, you will be responsible for leading project management across HCL Aus which may also include change management. The role is accountable for the delivery of major operational initiatives, governance of projects, onboarding of new principals while driving compliance and continuous improvement.

The National Project Manager will establish governance and controls for project management within HCL. The role will require you to lead and liaise with the business SME’s to ensure their ongoing involvement and commitment to their projects. This will also include developing and updating onboarding documents and processes for both 3PL and 4PL new business projects.

You will provide overall oversight, coordination and visibility on the status of all key projects within HCL. The National Project Manager will be accountable for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, in scope and within budget. Whilst a newly established role in Australia the individual needs to have the ability and capability of manage a team of up to 3 direct reports in the future.

 

What you will do:

  • Lead the Project Management function within HCL
  • Manage the creation of BRD, URS or Scoping documents as appropriate
  • Establish governance structures and processes for Project Management
  • Develop reporting platforms to enable clear visibility of current and future projects
  • Develop project charters in conjunction with the business which highlight:
    • Overview
    • Objectives
    • Scope
    • Budget
    • Timeframes
    • Team members
    • Roles and responsibilities
    • Communication/escalation matrix
  • Manage and be accountable for leading the projects
  • Establish project meeting cadence
  • Set-up steering committee meetings for all key projects
  • Liaise with key stakeholders for project buy-in Including working closely and holding both Operations and IT Project teams to account for deliverables
  • Hand over projects to the key stakeholders within the agreed time frame
  • Lead lessons learnt sessions after the project close and implement appropriate outcomes
  • Develop a robust change management process
  • Work with finance, SMEs and the wider support functions to create accurate project budgets

 

What we are looking for:

  • A tertiary or post graduate qualification(s) relevant to the role
  • Minimum 15yrs experience of which at least 10 directly relevant and 5yrs at senior management level
  • Experience in project management especially relevant around logistic projects
  • Understanding of the Australian health sector and its evolution
  • Proven capability in logistics and supply chain leadership
  • Solid understanding of IT platforms including SAP
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively and influence others to support and deliver a solution without direct line management oversight
  • Experience in issues management and risk mitigation
