The opportunity:

The Advanced Practice Pharmacist plays an important role in the ongoing full scope leadership of TerryWhite Chemmart (TWC). Reporting to the Pharmacist Implementation & Change Specialist, this role collaborates closely with the Health Programs, Capability, and Pharmacy Operations teams. The primary focus is to support and enhance education, learning opportunities, and advance capabilities for pharmacists undergoing post graduate training and qualified Pharmacist Prescribers, by providing practical guidance and constructive feedback.

By empowering pharmacists to practice at their full scope, the Advanced Practice Pharmacist helps TWC maintain its market-leading position in pharmacist prescribing and delivers improved patient outcomes.

 

Key Accountabilities included, but not limited to:

Program Support

  • Support the Pharmacist Implementation & Change Specialist to design, facilitate, and deliver impactful learning activities.
  • Facilitate workshops, webinars, and peer learning groups to drive engagement and knowledge sharing.
  • Research and develop innovative learning methodologies (e.g., microlearning, blended learning, simulation-based training) to meet diverse learner needs and advance pharmacist practice.
  • Create and maintain high-quality learning materials, guides, and toolkits tailored to pharmacist needs.
  • Monitor participation, engagement, and performance metrics, providing regular reports to leadership on program effectiveness and impact.
  • Ensure all full scope activities comply with clinical governance frameworks and professional standards (e.g., PSA Professional Practice Standards).

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Professional Practice & Governance, Health Programs, Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Assist in planning and executing change management strategies, including communication plans, training sessions, and feedback mechanisms to drive adoption of new practices.

Continuous Learning and Development

  • Support a culture of continuous professional development by seeking feedback, evaluating program effectiveness, and implementing improvements.
  • Utilise data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for further development.

 

What we are looking for:

Knowledge

  • Current knowledge of the community pharmacy industry in Australia, and in particular the learning pathways and professional practice landscape relating to pharmacist prescribing, including State and Territory programs and pilots where relevant.
  • QCPP, Professional Practice Standards & PSA Competency Standards 

Skills & Attributes

  • Able to prioritise tasks and work with stakeholders from a broad range of departments 
  • Ability to influence and motivate individuals and large teams, both face-to-face and via other communication methods (Teams Meetings, Webinars, Written Comms etc)
  • Can build professional relationships with a variety of people at all levels to ensure role effectiveness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including impeccable spelling and grammar 
  • Be a proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Ability to self-manage, motivated by completing tasks accurately and on time 
  • Can proactively identify and address tasks which require escalation 
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure as part of a team and communicate effectively to all stakeholders with great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in the safe and appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence tools to maximise productivity and support professional practice is desired

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy and current registration
  • Near completion or completion of the training required for the Graduate Certificate of Advanced Practice and Prescribing for Pharmacists (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years' experience working in a community pharmacy, preferably with a health and service-focused philosophy and a commitment to maintain recency of practice relevant to the provision of care that the TWC network provides
  • Experience in facilitation and / or training 
  • Immunisation, First Aid and CPR qualifications 
  • TAE qualifications useful

 

Inter and Intra-State travel will be required for this role

Out of hours work may be required to meet the requirements of position

This is an office-based role, and we support a flexible work environment. However, the successful candidate will be required and expected to facilitate face to face workshops and contact/visit the network if it is deemed necessary for the role.
