The opportunity:
The Account Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing accounts, and positioning the company’s medical wholesale portfolio as a trusted, value-based solution aligned to clinical, operational, and commercial needs of customers. This position will drive sustainable revenue growth and market expansion by developing and managing strategic customer relationships across the wholesale market sector.
The role integrates business development with account management by proactively engaging healthcare providers, procurement stakeholders, and clinical decision-makers to understand demand, influence purchasing decisions, and deliver tailored solutions that improve outcomes while maximising profitability. The Account Manager ensures consistent execution of sales strategies, supports tender participation, and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver exceptional customer experience, service reliability, and long-term partnership value.
What you will do:
Customer Relationship Management
- Manage an allocated group of wholesale customers and deliver an exceptional customer experience through direct engagement and relationship development.
- Regularly communicate with customers to understand their evolving needs, problem solve and develop joint strategic goals.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and drive value.
Account Planning and Strategy
- Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions.
- Develop a consistent “call cycle” amongst ranked customer groups
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales, product management, customer service) to ensure customer needs are met effectively and KPI’s are met.
- Conduct QBR’s with relevant key strategic accounts.
Sales and Revenue Generation
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products to existing customers.
- Work with the NSM to develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
- Monitor revenue performance against targets and take proactive measures to achieve or exceed sales goals.
- Develop “pipeline” opportunities for revenue growth.
Market and Competitor Analysis
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics and competitor activities.
- Analyse market data to identify opportunities for business growth and differentiation.
- Provide insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders based on market intelligence to identify opportunities for growth.
- Formulate plans for brand and selling opportunities at trade conference, and new business categories.
What we are looking for:
- Strong experience in a similar role with a focus on customer relationship management and sales.
- Background in a Sales or Marketing tertiary discipline (preference)
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and outstanding organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of numeracy.
- Outstanding customer service capability.
- Demonstrated skills in building and managing relationships.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Autonomous with a vision for career development.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Dynamics (or similar)
- Knowledge of the medical consumables/device industry, tenders and contracts.
- NSW Class C Drivers Licence
